ABOUT OUR lamps…

Our lamps are handmade to order in our small workshop in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.

We take pride in crafting well-made and distinctive homewares and, wherever possible, we strive to make use of reclaimed, recycled and repurposed materials.

We live in a time of cheap mass production and planned obsolescence of products that barely perform and rarely last. Our rampant consumerism has created a throw-away culture which is contributing to the overuse of resources and harming the planet. At Bainbridge Metalworks, we believe in sustainability and the repurposing of reclaimed or recycled materials into objects that proudly show the scars and bruises of their passage through life. Something that was thrown away or left behind can be given new purpose and meaning; a fitting metaphor for the constant cycle of learning and reinvention we undergo as humans as we age and grow.

We believe the things we make should outlast and outlive their makers.
